Girls Night In

Last weekend Greg was gone for recurrent training, so I decided to have the flower girls from our wedding over Friday night for a sleep over. It was about time that the girls outnumbered the boys in this household. Oh my, we had so much fun...and the girls were hilarious! They love Jett (when I was pregnant they all said that they wanted it to be a girl, but now they are glad he was a boy, because boys are so much fun). They all took turns feeding Jett his dinner (three bites of vegetable, one bite of fruit, and then switch). After dinner it was time for a diaper change, but they decided that they didn't need to help with that:) They also took turns playing and holding him. Here is a picture of Ellie and Holly taking turns.

Then Ellie came up with a great plan to play truth or dare. Pretty sure I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. They of course had to know who each other liked and were embarrassed to say, but they all made it clear to each other that whatever we said in the room, stayed in the room...everything was confidential:) They were so funny!

Now to explain this picture comes one of my favorite times in the evening. So I am a huge Dancing with the Stars fan. Go Jerry Rice! I even voted for him last week, I feel like such a dork. Anyway, I wanted to see if he made it into the next round so I asked the girls if we could watch a bit of it to see. I explained the show and who I was going for...and then they became even bigger fans. They were totally going for Jerry Rice and were so nervous about him making it. They then announced that we all needed to sit on the couch and hold hands as they said who made it. They were so cute. Afterwards they wanted to have their own dance contest. So funny! After Holly's flopping fish on the floor I thought I was going to bust a gut. I think that I was looking at myself 13 years ago.

After Jett went to bed we all piled on the couch to watch National Treasure. Greg called during the movie, so we each took turns talking to him. Bedtime was quite interesting. The girls were a bit scared to sleep downstairs by themselves...but I can't blame them, I don't even like to sleep in the house by myself sometimes. Finally on the third try we found a place for them to sleep...at the foot of my bed.

I missed Greg while he was gone, but I'm so glad that it gave me a chance to have the girls over. When we get so busy we need to slow down and remember what is important in life. Your time is the best gift you can give kids!
