Last Saturday my Great Grandma Clase passed away. She was 97 years old. I was very blessed to have such a close relationship with my Grandma and to be able to share so many good memories with her for so long. I was able to share a few things at her funeral...I spoke about our time together after I graduated from college. For about a year and a half I went down every Tuesday night and spent the evening with her. We always had a snack together and then played cards. I laughed about how her room was always hot. One day my mom and I went to visit and we walked into this wall of heat. By the time I got to her my legs were sweating, my pants were clinging to my legs and my breathing had changed:) My mom checked the temperature and it was almost 90 degrees! We had a good laugh. I talked about what I loved about my Grandma. She was a prayer warrior. I loved hearing her pray. I loved her laugh and her smile. Her entire face would light up when you walked into the room. I loved how I never heard her speak poorly of anyone. She had such a tender spirit and was so kind to everyone. Lastly I spoke about her welcome into Heaven. As I was laying in bed the night before I could just see it as if it was right before me. My Grandma, Barb, and her sisters came up to her, hugging her and saying "Oh Mom, we have so much to talk to you about." My dad ran up to her giving her a hard time saying, "it's about time you got here Grandma." And then proceeded to pick her up and spin her around. Lastly I saw her dancing. For years my Grandma had been struggling with her vision failing and physically worn. She was dancing in freedom, her eyes were clear, her body was whole, it was the reunion she had been waiting for...and she was dancing because she was finally Home!
