The Night The Lights Went Out In New Paris...

And this is why I was born in the age of electricity. What a long night. We had a horrible storm last night and of course Greg was gone and I had to endure it by myself. We survived! We headed downstairs to the basement and the kids were having a snacks while watching a movie - doing great - until the pitch dark came. We moved to the bedroom with a window and I found some flashlights for them to play with. Brayden was hilarious, he kept walking around trying to turn the lights on while proclaming in his only volume of voice (LOUD) "IT'S NOT WORKING!" He has never experienced loss of electricity so he was quite confused. An example of our conversation once we made it upstairs.

"Mommy, can I watch a movie?"
"No. Sorry, baby the tv doesn't work."
"Can I play on the puter?"
"Nope, that doesn't work either."
"I go play trains?"
"You can, but the light in your room doesn't work."
"Can I have oatmeal for snack?"
"No, the microwave doesn't work either."
He then heads down the hallway and shortly after I hear the toliet flush.
"MOMMY, THE POTTY WORKS!"
Funny kid - Love him! After the kids were in bed I had a nice relaxing evening of reading my book by the dim light of my flashlight. Around 11:30 I started getting a headache and didn't understand why...dur...maybe cause I had been reading my book by dim light for three hours. My parents came to check on me durning the evening and they thankfully took some of my freezer items to their house along with "Kyla milk" that I consider liquid gold:) This morning at 6:42 a.m. (oh yes, we were up) the lights came on and the boys jumped up and down screaming with delight...I wanted too also, but heck, it was 6:42 in the morning - being verticle was a good accomplishment at that point. I hear Papa Denny is my knight and shining armor and got the electric back on for us. Thanks Papa Denny...and my sanity for the day thanks you too:)
