Where was the ark when I needed it?

This past weekend I took the boys to the Fairfield High School football game with my cousin Alyssa. We decided to go early with Darcy and Adie and go to a tailgate. It was so much fun! The people that hosted it went way out and it was so yummy. We were a little nervous because we were told it might rain, but so far everything looked good. After eating I was talking with some friends when we heard, "it's coming!" We look out over the parking lot and see this huge black cloud and the horizon full of rain. We all just stood in shock. Finally someone yells, "RUN!" We all start running around, not sure where to go. Do we find shelter? Do we try and make it to the cars? Within seconds the rain was upon us with no mercy. Alyssa, Darcy and Adie got under the tent in time, but I was still running with Jett (whom began screaming at the first drop). My friends grabbed Brayden and tried to shelter him behind their umbrella, but the rain came in sideways and completely drenched everyone. After a few minutes of seeing my kids crying out of wetness and fear, I took it upon myself to save my children. I yelled out to Alyssa among the thunder and lightening, "I'm going for the van, if I don't come back...goodbye." Within two steps of running I was completely soaked (like I had just stepped out of the shower with my clothes on). As I was running some other friends where next to us under another tent yelling, "Oh my goodness, she's running out in the rain...no Natalie, come back." And I yell back, "No, I must do this for my children!" I take the van over, open the back, and stick them in...then Jett thought it was fun. A few minutes later, the sun came out and their was a rainbow arched over the football field. We all look around and just start laughing at each other about how wet we are and then lose it over how all the food was just floating in water. I looked over at Alyssa and stated: "I'm going home to get dry and I am NOT coming back." So we came home, gave the boys baths and put them to bed and then relaxed on the couch all night and watched tv...and was not disappointed once that we were missing a football game! So the story was a bit dramatic, did you expect much else from me? Here are some pictures of what we looked like when we first got home.

How fun. Do you think this helped with Jett's fear of water? I am so jealous that they get to hang out with cousin Adie. I hope our boys will still be friends even though they are so far apart in distance. love reading about your adventures! miss you all.

what an adventure.
I can't believe how big the boys are getting. jett is probably more scared of the water.
